New AT&T cell phones are finally going Android
AT&T’s first set of Google’s Android-based smartphones will launch from Dell, HTC, and Motorola in 2010. Rumored and reviewed the Motorola Backflip is expected to be the first AT&T cell phone featuring Android 1.5. Distinctively, the Backflip has a unique form factor enabling you to reversely flip the screen, turning your cell phone into a hands-free video player, music player, digital photo frame, and bedside alarm clock. Additionally, the Motorola Backflip is complete with Wi-Fi, GPS, Stereo Bluetooth and a tactile keyboard. The Backflip will also sport MotoBlur, an Motorola’s unique cell phone interface that streams all your social networking feeds onto the home screen of your cell phone, all without logging into Facebook or Twitter.
Dell is rumored to launch the Mini 3 for AT&T, an Android-based cell phone. This smartphone surfaced earlier this year with different prototypes, but is believed to have a 3.5-inch touch screen, 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS and a SD card slot . The Mini 3 will launch with an Android-based operating system providing all of Google’s services such as Google Mail, Maps, and Talk. The smartphone’s specs and features are still reserved but there is a lot to look forward to with the Mini 3, considering the cell phone will reflect Dell’s focus on future mobile products.
HTC is also expected to jump on the bandwagon with Android-based smartphones for AT&T. HTC’s new smartphone will bring a “PC-like” mobile web experience, Wi-Fi connectivity, and user-friendly HTC Sense interface that we all love. HTC Sense is designed to provide consumers even more customization on top of that included in Google’s Android operating system, combine that with Google sync services and you can expect a rich mobile experience.
AT&T’s new Android smartphone line-up is quite impressive and has customers waiting for Google cell phone availability. Android cell phones are creating quite a stir on all major carrier services; it’s inevitable for AT&T to offer their first cell phones running the Android operating system this year.
