Could You Be A Professional Blogger?

Filed under: Blog Tags — admin at 10:38 pm on Wednesday, December 31, 2008

Recently, I pointed out that blogging can be an excellent way for people to start earning with AdSense. It takes no effort at all to get a blog up and running on Blogger and you pretty much start with one ad well blended at the top of the page.

But there’s a difference between starting with AdSense and making a good income from it, and that’s really the goal, right? I’m sure that most bloggers who put ads on their sites would really like to see their entries making so much money that they can kick the day job and make their living as a professional blogger. They’d be getting paid to talk about their favorite topics, and what could be better than that?

There are some people online who do exactly that. But you’ve got to do a lot more than put one ad at the top of your Blogger site — however well-blended it might be — to become a professional blogger.

First, most professional bloggers run more than one blog. They often run several. They also talk about a lot more than their families and their points of view. They give valuable information that people can use in their own lives or their businesses, and best of all, they become the center of a community in which other people swap tips and ideas. So if they’re travel agents, they can write blogs that reveal how to find bargains. If they’re accountants, they can warn about hidden tax liabilities.

That’s valuable content aimed at a market that wants it.

And then there are the ads.

You could tell readers how to choose next week’s winning lottery numbers but if you don’t have ad units in the best places on the page and showing the sorts of ads your users will want to click, you won’t get a penny from the winnings. You’ll have to know how to make sure AdSense is serving the ads you want to receive. You’ll have to know how to make those ads stand out while still blending in. And you’ll have to know how to follow your stats so that you can leap on a drop in earnings as soon as it happens.

It’s a combination of creating valuable content, smart AdSense strategy and a good knowledge of Internet marketing too. Just get that — and it’s really not too hard — and you can be a professional blogger too.

Getting Yourself Fridges Online

Filed under: Hardware Tips — admin at 5:05 pm on Wednesday, December 31, 2008

Should you be surveying the marketplace for the most optimal price on fridges and freezers looking online will probably be an incredible way to not squander time and cash. Don’t choose to squander your time looking around countless high street retail shops in a search for the finest bargains - all you need to do is simply get to a computer and log on and a whole new universe of fridges awaits you on the web.

However, with multitudinous on-line options how do you conceivably find out which one can not squander your cash on fridges while still guaranteeing you find a high quality product. As best practice should you buy your appliance from an outlet on your high street then you should not in reality have any significant qualms about purchasing your items from their web-site, and as we should all know you will probably naturally get much cheaper prices on the internet

Briefly reading over a good shoppers guide is always a cracking place to begin When you are surveying the market for fridges - they are generally stuffed with a great wealth of information and also effectively raise points you might well not have thought about all by your self. These considerations include; power consumption, extra features and storage capacity among further things.

Do not consistently go with the cheapest offer - extraordinarily ofttimes the first price you notice on a site will probably not include value added tax or home delivery fees and when you reach the card payment stage you possibly may be paying a lot more than you initially imagined.

What date do you need it by? Not all online options guarantee swift delivery and if your original appliance has just broken down you might well not wish to wait two weeks for your brand new one. So be sure to constantly find out what your estimated delivery day shall be. Some great value fridges online can be found here.

Find out the returns policy - fridges are a tricky item to buy; sometimes they look fantastic in the showroom or on a web-site but when you get it to your home you realise it doesn’t match your home at all. Therefore, you should always be careful.

A Boating Magazine for Every Type of Boater

Filed under: Media Hub — admin at 4:07 am on Wednesday, December 31, 2008

Are you looking for a boating magazine to subscribe to? What kind of magazine are you looking for? If you think your selection will be limited, you are mistaken. There are several options available for almost any type of boating magazine you might be interested in. You can choose from general interest magazines, magazines that cater to specialized boating lifestyles and hobbies, classified ad boating magazine choices, local interest magazines, and online magazines.

If you want a boating magazine that has general information about a lot of different types of boats as well as other articles about things that would interest boaters, such as charter fishing boats and reviews of the newest boat models this is the kind of magazine you might like. You will also find articles on boating safety as well as boat maintenance and even basic repairs that you can do yourself in a general interest boating magazine.

Specialty boat magazines run quite the wide scope. If you are a classic boat owner who wants to know more about restoration and maintenance on older boats to make it last for many more years you can get a magazine that offers that kind of information. Maybe you are a yacht owner (or you would like to be)-you can find a magazine that is specifically for yacht owners and enthusiasts. They may also have information about yacht charters. There is a specialty boating magazine for virtually every type of boat and boat owner.

For those who are trying to buy or sell a boat, your resources are not limited to print publications-you can also choose to list your boat in an online boating magazine to reach even more readers (there are even ones that offer only yachts.) If you decide to go the online route, you can have nice color pictures of your boat and graphics to match. However, if you plan on selling your boat locally, you should probably just go with a local boat trader magazine.

There are many publications which offer articles as well as advertisements online. This is one way to get an idea if a magazine is something that you would like to subscribe to. Take a look online, and not only will you find articles from actual boat magazine publications, but you can also find several free trial issue offers so that you can try a magazine (or a few magazines) before you buy it.

Facts About Martial Arts For Kids (Part 4)

Filed under: University of Martial Arts — admin at 7:47 pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2008

“How important is age?”

In a nutshell, age is extremely important. A child who cannot handle being in kindergarten, or pre-school, will not be able to concentrate in a martial arts class. Before five years of age, any child who can focus in a martial arts class is exceptional.

We have successfully trained a few children who were, or are, four years of age. I don’t want to turn away the next Bruce Lee or Mozart, when he or she comes along, but there are a few factors to consider when a child is very young.

1. Can he or she let go of a parent’s hand, and work independently, in a classroom setting? This is very important, unless you can find a martial arts teacher that will teach parent and child, together, in the same classroom.

2. What are your true goals? When a parent has a lot of patience, it is much easier to accomplish realistic goals of focusing in a classroom, improved motor skills, and enhanced athletic abilities. However, instant success and precision performance are not likely. In many cases, young karate students tend to “shine” around seven years of age or older, so why put your child under pressure?

3. How much of a distraction is a young child going to be in a karate class? If your child is used to being the center of attention, this won’t work in a martial arts class. Time is shared with other students, and the objective is to learn everything in the daily lesson plan. This cannot be accomplished if a child is screaming for attention.

Within our Karate studio, in North Providence, we have a no pressure screening process for young children, as a measure, to see if joining our kids Karate classes will be a good relationship for the parents, child, and the Karate studio. This is why we have a free 30-day trial membership, with no obligations on either side.

As a parent, you want your child to get the optimum martial arts experience every time they train. This can only happen if the martial arts school establishes clear guidelines for conduct and if all the children participating are “team players.”

Otherwise, parents do not get their money’s worth and children waste time in a Karate class, while the child who gets the most attention is a discipline problem.

Within a child’s mind, being responsible for his or her actions is a matter of developing awareness, and everything is a new experience. As adults, we know that this knowledge comes with age, but each individual child grows at a different rate. Children are not “little adults,” and we cannot place adult expectations upon them.

If you put children into extremely high-pressure situations, they will not continue to enjoy the activity. Whether it is martial arts, academic school, or little league baseball, it is healthy for parents and children to have goals, but we all have to learn to accept life’s little setbacks without worry.

Online Merchant Accounts

Filed under: Touring And Biking — admin at 5:22 pm on Sunday, December 28, 2008

There is a direct correlation between merchant accounts and processing gateways. Both are Internet services that enable online processing of credit cards. Online merchant accounts can also be termed as variations of the traditional credit card processing used by retail stores.

To be eligible for a merchant account, a business must satisfy certain requirements as proposed by the provider. Each provider has a different set of requirements based on the policy and strategy of the company. Business risks also play a pivotal role in this regard. It refers to the variability of earnings before interest and taxes. Other things being equal, the higher the variability of demand for the products manufactured by the firm, the higher its business risk. A firm, which is exposed to a higher degree of volatility for the prices of its products, is in general characterized by a higher degree of business risk in comparison with similar firms, which are exposed to a lesser degree of volatility for the prices of their products.

When talking about online merchant accounts, it is worth mentioning that most of the time processing gateways are packaged with merchant accounts. Processing gateways are an intermediary to get card information from your shopping cart to the merchant account. In a broader term, gateway can be defined in a number of ways. On the one hand it acts as a network that serves as an entrance to another network. On the other hand, in business firms, the gateway is the computer that routes the traffic from a workstation to the outside network. In homes, the gateway acts as an Internet Service Provider (ISP) that connects the user to the Internet.

It can be a tedious and somewhat expensive task for some business enterprises to get merchant accounts directly from banks. Beware of brokers; they can lead you into trouble. Always seek out providers that have experience in your industry. Also, protect yourself through disclaimers, because with any merchant account you are responsible for costly fraudulent activities and charge backs from your customers.

Why The Wizened Old Martial Arts Masters In The Movies Are Dead Wrong

Filed under: University of Martial Arts — admin at 5:12 pm on Sunday, December 28, 2008

Watch almost any martial arts movie where the old, wise karate or kung fu master is training a new student…and you will almost always hear teacher tell student to “look your enemy in the eye.”

Bad idea. Really bad idea.

Why?

Because, while this is fine for tournaments and television, it can put you in severe danger on the street.

Think of it like this:

Imagine you’re walking down the street, minding your own business, when some lunatic strung out on drugs comes rushing up to you and yelling at you. Face to face, eyeball to eyeball.

What do you do?

Well, if you stand there and look him in the eye, you’ll have no idea where his hands or feet are at, leaving yourself wide open for all kinds of “sucker punches” and sneak attacks with a weapon.

Instead of looking the weirdo in the eye, you should immediately get into what’s called the “passive” stance”.

This is where you look at his midsection (NOT his eyes), put your arms up, and take a slight side stance — all while relaxing your face to a non-emotional expression, neither smiling nor frowning.

Why do all this?

Because by taking these few simple steps…you’re doing exactly the opposite of what other people do — which is to immediately yell back at them, belly to belly, and eyeball to eyeball, with their hands down.

That would actually put you too close to see an incoming “sucker punch”, totally unaware of where an exit is, not able to see a possible weapon, and never notice his buddy to the side, ready to jump you.

Bottom line: When you’re in a situation like this, immediately take the “passive stance.”

That way, you’re instantly prepared for an attack and fully aware of your environment — giving you a tactical advantage from the start.

Bunce-field Burner

Filed under: Activism — admin at 2:04 am on Saturday, December 27, 2008

I often make the journey from Northampton to Somerset, but
yesterday I did so under a cloud… At just after 1pm yesterday,
the cloud from the Buncefield Depot had reached the edge of
Northampton. Around Oxford the road visibility was down to about
200 yards, and we stayed under the cloud until Bristol. As I
looked up at the sunlight filtering through the cloud I got to
thinking that we have to do more to stop this kind of pollution
happening. Right now, we’re hamstrung by the oil industry. We
need their produce to run our cars, to fuel our homes, power our
computers and even transport our groceries to our local
supermarket. And what would happen if the oil industry hiked the
prices to an even crazier level, or our supply got cut off? Do
you have the skills and knowledge to survive: to produce, food,
heat and light? It seems that we like being spoon-fed. We like
the easy life, especially when it comes packaged as cheap or
more importantly, when it’s convenient. It seems we don’t ask
questions anymore. We just accept what we’re told or accept that
their is only one way. And because of this acceptance our air is
polluted, water contaminated and our soil full of toxins.
Something must be done… and we need to do it. Start today,
become aware that you might be burning more fuel than necessary.
Drive at the speed most economical for your car, usually between
50 & 65 miles per hour and turn off electricity when you don’t
need it on - even the time clock on the oven or the stero or DVD
player. If it has a red dot showing it is on standby and using
1/3 of the regular power. More importantly start to look at the
alternatives - after all Iceland is now producing 70% renewable
energy, why can’t we?

Content is King

Content is King!

Content is what Search Engine robots look for when they decide how high to rank a web site for certain keywords. Let’s define what we mean by content. To a search engine, content includes words, sentences, and paragraphs that are FULL of the keywords that you want to be found for. Please understand that all graphics are totally ignored by the search engines. A web site with nothing but graphics will NEVER get good rankings on the search engines. Your home page has to sell the rest of the site! It should have at the very least a few well written paragraphs that tell the world what you do or what you offer. These paragraphs should include as many of the keywords from your master list as you can logically weave into the page. Don’t make your site awkward to read though. If you can’t use the word on the home page, just work it in on another page.

WPAutoBlogger

Search Engines love fresh sites!

The search engines will re-index your site periodically to see if anything has changed since the last visit. Stale sites will tend not to rank as highly as sites that are constantly being updated. Try to make minor improvements to all of your pages at least once a week. This is why we love blogging, we are updating our sites daily.

Search Engines really love sites that undergo changes on a regular basis and visit them more often so keep your sites updated as often as possible within reason.

One of the easiest methods that has been used in the last couple of years is blogging. Blogging allows you to more easily build and update your content on a more regular basis. However, if you have a large number of blogs you are trying to keep fresh this can still be difficult. Enter WordPress Auto Blogger.

WP Autoblogger has just been released by Jason DeVelvis and is revolutionizing the blogging industry by enabling the user to plug into an article directory with over 360 categories of 8,000 articles and set them up to auto post to their blog.

Free Laptop Mobile Broadband Contracts

Filed under: Consumers, Tech + Life, Telco — admin at 8:44 am on Friday, December 26, 2008

There is a new advantage to mobile broadband right now and that is the fact that you get free laptop mobile broadband contracts where you basically get a free laptop or notebook with every contract of the mobile broadband from a network provider. I found all the info I needed on Broadbandgenie.co.uk.

One of the greatest things about this bargain deal, in my opinion, is that you can make use of the internet that you have signed up to straight away. We are all very impatient people and the reality of pulling your new mobile broadband dongle out of the box alongside a brand new and shiny laptop that was completely free of charge is something that is too impossible to walk away from.

Although the mobile broadband dongles can be used with normal PC’s, this kind of defies the point of having such a moveable kind of internet. This mobile internet combined with a free laptop mobile contract offers not only value for money but also a great deal more flexibility and comfort while you are surfing the net.

The ability to use it anywhere you wish can be collectively shared with the fact that you are getting a brand new gadget or toy and this reduces the expense of having to pay out for a new laptop.

Bryan Ellis - Virtual Real Estate Investing vs. Physical Real Estate Investing

Filed under: Marketing + More, Real Estate Hall, Your Business — admin at 12:50 pm on Thursday, December 25, 2008

A newcomer to the world of investments in the notion of “Virtual Real Estate Investing“. Everything from using the internet as an avenue to make more money in real estate to online games such as SecondLife seem to be included in the popular definition of this term.

In order to figure out the truth of the matter, I sought out Bryan Ellis, whose experience in the fledgling industry is truly impressive.

Ellis says he adopted the term “virtual real estate investing” sometime before Y2K after he realized that making money online is conceptually very similar to making money with physical real estate.

Bryan Ellis cites the similar strategies one can employe to make money from “virtual property” and “physical property” as a primary parallel of the two markets. He points out that control of a domain name or even a specific web page is much like controlling a real estate property ” those assets can be monetized in similar ways: By selling them for a profit, by leasing them, by offering advertising, etc.

The parallels really are obvious. Consider: A valuable piece of real estate is valuable largely due to the interest that other people have in that specific location. Similarly, ownership of a desirable domain name is valuable for the same reasons. In either case, you could sell or lease the asset and turn it into cash.

In our next installment of this series on virtual real estate investing., Bryan Ellis will share the internet analogies to the physical concept of real estate development.
